Coach Matias will be joining the Empowered Youth program in May 2023. He is originally from Neuquén, Argentina and moved to Yankton to attend Mount Marty University where he is a member of the men’s soccer team. He has also played soccer professionally for Club Olimpo de Bahia Blanca in Argentina. He will graduate with a degree in Exercise Science this spring and will start his Master’s in Coaching Leadership at MMU in the fall. In addition to playing soccer, Matias has spent over 120 hours interning as an athletic trainer. He has also served 2 years as an assistant in the strength and conditioning department working with the soccer, basketball, track, baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, and cheer programs. He understands the importance of comprehending an athlete’s physical and psychological abilities and will tailor his coaching to meet their individual needs. All people are kids at heart, and he aims to make training fun! . Coach Matias will be co-coaching the general sessions and will also offer small group training.
